im new to this fish stuff and i want a catfish. any ideas on how big a tank i should get. and yeha. i want to spend under 150 if its possible. :D

Wait, you want to spend $150 on the catfish or tank? I'd definetly check out your local craigslist if $150 is all you're looking to spend for a tank, nevermind a setup. If that's your catfish budget, that's another story.

Before buying the catfish. Do your research as catfish may range in max size of 1" to several feet. Some may do well in community tank while others will eat all its tankmate. When you find out what size tank you can afford or display then you will be able to find out what catfish you may want to stock your tank with.

for $150 U can get a filter, heater, gravel and a few glassl Catfish and a 10 gallon tank!

why dont u check the classified on this site and some other ones like piranha-fury.com and ebay.com....see if u can pick up a cheap 55g but first you have to find out what kind of catfish you want to keep because if u want to keep a red tail catfish you'll never be able to get a tank to hold that fish for under 150 bucks

$150 will get you a nice new 29g set up with light, hood, etc if you shop around and that would let you keep cats like rapfaels or pictus. A better bet would be to scan the local sales papers and garage sale notices as you should be able to find a 55g-75g set up used for under a $100. Even with a standard 55g the largest fish you should consider would be about 8" long.
