My tank started to go real murky, so I stopped feeding my fish checked the filters ( I have one 30 gal filter and one 70 gal filter in a 55 gal tank) they are fine, so I did a water change and left it for a day and a bit and now it has started to turn a green colour and is even more murky, I'm thinking I have to many fish, I am new to this scene so pls let me know I have a lemon oscar about 6 1\2 inches a snakehead about 7 inches, peacock chiclid, and a blue ahli, the latter two are leaving the tank soon, o ya an algae eater about 8 inches, I have now taken the rock out and am about to do another water change, is there anything else I can do?

a 55 gal is to small for an oscar for life and you got two messy eaters with that oscar and snakehead, not sure how big that snakehead get but , you need to upgrade that tank or lose the oscar for sure and not sure a bout the flow of the tank, is there flow in the water and also and is it in direct sun light

Yah there seems to be good flow, the air bubbles are being carried pretty far through the tank, if thats what you mean. Both filters are on either end of the tank. Tank is not in direct sunlight, does get indirect sunlight

ill start the useful Q how long has your tank being running? how old is the filter media? did you replace it recently ? if so all ??

No, not over feeding. Snakehead gets fed usually once a week. Oscar gets fed peas a couple times a day, if that. Just a single fluroescent tube for the last 4 months. Filter media is new, all has been replaced except for bio filter

cloudiness is normally cause by a bacterial bloom...

not really, it is probly a mini-cycle since you cleaned your filter media, as for turning green I would start limiting the light on the tank
