I just lost one of my lamp. brevis due to a big red bubble. it sucks. I have no clue what happened.

He was fine earlyer this morning and my bf and I saw him 2 hours ago before we left and he was fine, no red bubble. We come home and we find him dead with this red spot. Help me figure out what is this red spot. How did it get there, what caused it and if my other fish can get it. Pleaseeeee.

Hmmm...What are its tankmates and then tank size, Ash? Have you observed any vicious squabbles? What are your water parameters? Have you added anything in your tank?

Tank mates include:
1 other brevis - smaller
1 gold comp. - much smaller
2 ocellatus golds - much smaller
1 kigoma from the lfs that is the same size. (I had stuck him in there for a few days temp. waiting for the 55gal tank to cycle and it did so monday I added my other fronts and then moved him last night into the bigger tank. He was to small for my 150g.) - If that red thing is caused by a fish - then the front would be my guess.
I fig. the front would be ok for a few days.

No vicious squabbles - the comp and bigger brevis would open mouth and go in circles then back off but never bit one another that I saw. The brevis always scared off the comp. though.

Its a 20L - When they were all in there including front there was 6 total and all of them but the front and bigger brevis were under an inch.

Food- I did feed them spirulina brineshirmp for the very first time.

Water- params are good

It's possible it was attacked by a tankmate and scraped itself in its frantic dash to avoid the harassment. Severe stress from constant harassments can easily kill a fish. The front needs to be isolated.

The front is in the 55gal with other fronts and is fine with them. Not sure on him scraping himself b/c there is nothing sharp in that tank, the shells are rounded off and smooth.
