  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
that 14 inch dimention will cause problems when they cross the 8 inch mark. can live.will be cramped. a 48x18x18 would be better.

you'll be ok for a good chunck of time with that buy upgrading would be nessassary.

From my own point of view that 80 gal would be enough for those reds, It is true that the width doesn't help too much however the water volume exceeds the rule of at least 15 gal per fish. You count on 26 gal per fish which is really good.

The tank shape is not the best you can count on but i guess you can get away with it.

Cheers.

Dude you'll be fine. If your piranha are anything like my piranha 99 percent of the time they will just chill in one spot facing one direction. Would it be better if it were wider? Yes. Will that tank work just fine? Yes.

What size are they now?

i actually dont have any yet im waiting and doing my research first this was just the most promising tank i have found so far but i am going to hold off and maybe a 48x18xsomething 75 or 90g will come up then i will try to afford it.

i would be keeping red bellied piranha. my lfs only has one and its missing an eye if i ended up having to buy that one then get the 2 more at a later date they would most likely kill the one with one eye right?

is 3 not enough or should i be good? or can i have another one or two depending on tank size

3 is the minimum recommended.
