Well I just purchase my motoro ray about 2 weeks ago and thought about adding some fish to the tank now. I went out and purchase 2 tin foil barbs about 6in. each. My ray is about 5in. disc size. Well I notice how one of the barbs has a snipped tail fin. I bought the barbs yesterday and noticed it when I placed them in my tank. It's not my ray, but it must of been the tank it was housed in: 90g allon tank with 8 silver dollars, 2 bichers, 1 silver arowana, 8 tinfoil barbs, 3 gold tin foil barbs and a massive breeder pleco (20in.). The tank was crowded as you can see. Well the question is can I use aquarium salt to treat my barb's wound? Is aquarium salt safe for my ray?

No need for the salt. What you need is a spare 15g tank as a quarantine/hospital tank. Regardless of the circumstances, always have a backup tank or tub. By isolating the fish, you are able to change the water daily much more easily due to the smaller water volume. Clean water helps with recovery of tattered fins. Add heater and sponge filter in the backup tank/tub and be sure to cover the lid to avoid your fish from jumping otherwise you will have trouble doing plenty of water changes with that overcrowded 90g of yours.

Thanks Lupin, but I think you read my thread wrong, I purchased it at an lfs where it was housed in the 90 gallon crowded tank. I dont have any of those fish except the ray and two barbs.
