I recently purchased a baby Red Belly Pacu "Pudge" 2 -3 " and I am beging to wonder if he really is a Pacu. He is VERY aggressive. He tried to eat 2 gold fish 2-3 times his size . Anyone have any suggestions on this?

He's probably a pacu. They're not the timid herbivores a lot of people think they are. If they were fed feeders, before being purchased, chances are they've developed a taste for them and will always look to eat a fresh fish even when other food is offered.

Yep theyre omnivores and swimming garbage disposers. They will eat anything and everything with gusto. Forget plecos, Pacus are the ones that eat Fish Poo.

I used to have a group of big pacus when I was a kid. They were about 12" at that time. I used to buy them 4-5" feeder goldfish and they would rip them all to shreds. One would bite the head and the other the tail then they would tear it in half and all the guts flying around, the others would swim in to eat too the floating guts and chunks. Was a cool ass show.

they will do that sometime depending on the food they were raised on
