So I came home from class not to long ago and noticed a large patch of eggs on one of my anubius plants and my two veiled angels guarding it ferociously this is my grow out tank so they have some oddball tank mates but none seem to care about the eggs. I'm wondering how common this is and how much time I have before there is fry i ? I know once little fry start moving the others will notice. I have to turn in for the night now but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Angels breeding is a common ocurrence. The eggs will turn white within 48hours if they were not fertilized. If its your growout tank and your looking to put more size on the fish, I would pull the spawn until youre ready to breed.

Thanks for the advice but when I woke up the next morning the eggs were gone my guess is either the bicher or the pleco was cleaning the leaves and enjoyed a nice helping of caviar... I guess ot could have been the aro but I doubt it oh well what can you do.

Really tough to raise a spawn in a community tank. I usually try to leave the eggs until I can tell if they were fertilized or not before I crush the eggs, that way I know if I have a confirmed pair or not. Pack some more size on them and when youre ready, give the breeding pair a shot in a 20gal high tank.
