I have a 150gal tank with 2 12in res turtles and a 14in common pletco. should I build a wet/dry or a sump?

Don't quite understand your question. A sump is the bare water-collection area of a wet/dry filter system.

Ok I thought a sump was a box with dividers. and a wet/dry was a setup like plastic stacked drawers.
