alright well in my other post i asked this question but not many people view that thread now, so here is the question, in the excitment of finnaly getting an arow i purchased it (10$) and brought it home.. set it up.. took pics and left it alone, well i didnt notice but its missing a hole pelvic streamer and the longer/skinny fin that goes behind it, will those grow back?

id really like to start my trek into arow's with a very healthy fish, what kind of problems would this pose? would it throw it off balance?

i have just talked to a friend who has a very large indoor pond and he said he will take it grow it out and put it in the pond if i would like to start with a fully healthy black/silver and he would help me find a good deal on another,

is this the best bet? will it heal to size without ill effects? what remedies do i use to heal? or should i give it to my friend for a future in the pond and wait for a new one to come along, mabey a black!?

check your old thread, i answered.

you said here that the whole anal fin is missing? That's drastic. Sounds like a birth defect to me. You sure you didn't purchase the fish like that? Or are you saying that you DID purchase the fish like that?

Post some pics, then you'll get the best help.

I just checked your other thread again, and noticed that you DID post pics. From what you posted, the anal fin seems intact and fine. Pics are not good enough to determine the status of the pelvics though. I can see that at least one is good.

Personally, I think the fish looks fine.

You should check out other pics of juvenile silvers and compare with what you have. That way, you know you're not missing any fins or whatnot.

most all fins will regenerate and be fine. give it time and keep the water params good. at that size they are growing so fast it doesnt take them long to grow back.

I am having a hard time understanding your description, If you can please post more pics. I took a look at the pic in your other post, hi-lited what I thought looked to be the defect. If this is the problem seems a portion of the lower fin is missing(looks like a bite). As long as there is a porition of the spine left it should grow back fine. If the damage is into the body then grow back will not happen.

Again please post more pics if you can, below is your pic from your other thread;

see one side has both fins, and the other side is completly lacking of fins..
will those two fins grow back?

I see what you're talking about now...

there is no left pectoral and pelvic...

get a pic of the left side of the fish to see if there is any fin at all. if not, doesn't look like it'll grow back...
i can see that the fish is kinda tilted.

well the camera deceided to **** out on me, so i can only desribe it,
on the one side the fins are fully intact.. on the other side. the fins look torn off. by another fish? or even a LFS employee that got it caught in a net and just yanked it.. there "was" a fin there by the looks of it.. but it was torn. or bitten off.. doesnt look like a genetic deffect,
