In The Little Town Of Bedrock!
The JD that i added to my 55 has injurerd my del quite bad!, he's bitten his face and the bichir mouth it missing some skin and he only has one eye now!!!!!:cry::cry:Ive moved him into my 20 gallon with some zebra danois and a plattie so he should be fine in there but what do i do now?! HELP ME PLEASE

well, depending on the size of you bichir the danios and platies will be in the same kind of trouble soon. Bump up the temp, add some salt, add melafix, dim the lights, keep the water clean. good luck.

the bichir is about 5 inchs the danois are like a quarter his size but they could cause some problems possibly. Some problems right off the bat, i dont have any fish salt, i dont have any melafix. What kind of salt? i would imagen table salt isnt usable, and before you guys go down my throat for not having melafix its because none of my fish have had injuries before so i never got around to picking some up.

Lfs should have Aquarium Salt and Melafix, pick some up if possible. Good luck hope he recovers. Any chance we can see a pic of the Del? Maybe some of the experts can give you even more detailed instructions on how to help it recover.

umm yea just give me a minute ill try and get some pics, he's still in the acclimation bag so i should be able to get a few, until i take the pics ill try and describe it. His "skin" around his lower jaw on the right side has been peeled off a bit and is just kinda hanging on, the top of his jaw in the middle has the same and it is red and looks as if its bleeding slightly? and his eye is saggy but i beleave i can see the pupil under the skin. Ill get on the pictures now

The salt and melafix are great advice. Focus mostly on keeping him warm (so his body will kick into gear and heal faster), and keeping that water CLEAN. As in daily 30-50% water changes. Make sure those little fish aren't picking his flesh, too. If they are, throw them to the Dempsey (or put them in another tank). If you can pull him through this, you will have one hell of a pirate bichir.

I have a spare 10 gallon that isnt being used right now, its sitting empty. What i mean is if i take some water out of the 20 gallon fill the 10 with that water then take off a spare filters from the 55 (made for a 10 gallon imagen that!) and just put the bichir in there for the next while? I no it is just gonna stress his out more cause of another move but it will be better for him in the long run right?

by the way he's the video if him

Also sorry for the sh*tty quality and if theres music in the bakround
