HELP PLECO ACTING ODD!!!

Hi,
picked up a 'gold nugget pleco L081' yesterday. Its bin in the shop about a month eating fine.
It's belly and eyes are spot on, its got great colour, but when i was floating it in my tank it was just floating in the bag. It spent yesterday on the glass then this morning was lying on its side (alive but not attatched to anything). Now im no Pleco expert but i have never had one do that before.
My water peramiters are Temp.26oC, PH 6.6, Ammonia 0ppm, Nitarate 10ppm, Nitrite 0ppm!!!
Should i take it back or is this normal????

Did you check the stores parameter compared to yours? Did you float and drop, or float and add water slowly? He doesn't sound like he is going to make it.

parameters are the same, floated the bag for 30+ min and added water!

Just took it bak anyway an got a new one!!

Gold nuggets can be very difficult. Watch for any slightly odd behavior, it can be the start of something bad.

I sed in my second post i had taken it bak, sorry.
They swaped me another one which seems to be doin well.
It is in with my poly and salvini so there is plenty of protein rich waste lying around also i add pleco pellets, the poly eats them but again alot of waste. Hopefully it will be ok and gain a little size.
 
Unfortunately it isn't common for them to gain much size. They still look good though.

lol, my bad, didn't realise. Don't hold your breath for size. These things need to be CONSTANTLY grazing in decent water quality. Not the easiest species to keep at all.
 
its ok lol.
Gutted about the size its only about 2-3"s :irked:
Wot good looking pleco can i get that will grow? I had a Royal but it was so messy, i was fed up of cleaning up day in day out!!
