Our pleco has some large white spots on him i thought were
some kind of fungus, i treated his tank for 7 days w/ Melafix
and yesterday changed water adding salt. They"ve stopped
growing but are not going away. Asking for some help with
my pleco,..don't know what i'm dealing with here,...

It doesn't look like fin rot as some marks are on the body. Are you saying it was getting worse until you treated with melafix and now has stopped but won't go away? Is the fish acting normal? Have you tried primafix or melafix on it's own. I can't remember the dosage for mela but I think it's 5 days treat followed by a 25-30% water change and you say you've treated for 7?

Do you have a QT tank?

Just trying to help by looking for more info, good luck hope the fish heals

I treated per the directions for Melafix, yes they were getting worse
until i treated him w/ Melafix, now thats stopped but they aren't going
away,..i'm going to check on Primafix. I really appreciate your help
Yanbbrox, i've had this Pleco for a long time and want to have him for
a long time to come,..

His behavior hasn't changed, his color was "washed" out before i treated
him, now he looks back to normal aside from the spots still being there,..

you could also reduce the temp in the tank.

The washed out color is nothing to worry about, that is just a sign of stressbars(it's not a stress bar as such but will do as a word). Most plecos have this I've never really learned enough about it to comment properly but in my experience some fish do this all the time others don't. In my pleco community tank I've got a clown that's not even 2'' long that show signs of stress(the washed out look) at nothing.

When I had a large community, community tank there were 2 12-13'' commons in there that used to eat flake food when they were bored, I'd feed the other fish and they'd wander up and suck the flake off the surface. Neither would show sign of stress, water changes were different one used to follow the vac the other used to hide in the corner covered in stressbars.

How long did the washed out look last for, was it still acting normal whilst in this color?

Happy to help:)

Temp is 80-82 because this tank houses Pygos,...but
thanxs for your concern,..

Can you QT or not? Plecs are a pain to move but people have mixed feeling about both melafix and primafix, some swear it kills everything(discus especially, IMO with discus it either kills them or treats them), others have no issuses, I just hope I'm not trying to get you use something that could harm your other fish.

There again if you've already treated a full cycle of mela I can't see a problem, I forgot to say it's a nice looking fish

Good luck

He seemed to act normal throu the hole ordeal. He's really active,
sometimes darting clear across the tank for the heck of it:)
