help!! pls jag has weird growth thing

yea, my jag has this weird pinkish growth thing on his gill plate. its soft because i can see it move when his fin brushes it. he has had it for several weeks now and im getting concerned. he already has a little knob on his nose from rolling rocks and driftwood around. i hope i dont have to pull him out and cut it off......scary thought. can somebody help? any help is greatly appreciated
