I have a serious problem. I just added some brown water (water that has a bunch of bacteria) to the tank, and I found out that the bucket had been used to wash my dads car yesterday!

However, it has been almost an hour, there are only 3 miniscule patches of bubbles, and I had some bubbles like this long b4 using the bucket, and he rinsed it out really well afterwards, so there might have been no soap. Also, I have carbon that is fresh in the filter, the tank is a 220 stocked with only an 18 inch silver aro, who is behaving normally. Am I ok? if something goes wrong wat do I do? please help

you can always do a large water change to be safe, but everything seems fine for now...

ok. fish still acting fine, I think that if there was any soap, its been diluted to about .000000000001 ppm

just to be safe, what miles said

well i'm sure all of my tanks have had some trace of soap in them. i wash my hands with soap, and i'm sure i don't get all the soap off and my hands go in the tanks quite a bit.

unless ur fish act funny i wouldn't worry about it.
