Yah, screw the HSUS. Only support state or local branches. They're the ones that actually make a difference for the humane treatment of animals.

The Humane Society of the United States has simply become a money generating machine run by fairly extremist people. Several of the higher ups have been alleged to want to end ALL animal ownership in the US. Their goal isn't the management of the humane treatment of animals, its denying any American the right to even own an animal, as if this will somehow make the country a better place, or help protect animals.

They also support some very extremist organizations, and for the most part DON'T actually support any state or regional Humane Societies, financially or otherwise, even though they like to give the impression that they do.

If you contribute a donation to the HSUS, it won't go towards helping abandoned animals, it will go towards lobbying the US government to try and outlaw keeping most animals in captivity.

i think whaling in this age is preposterous, but what I find more preposterous (as a peaceful individualist anarchist) are the terrorists on whale wars.
