my 12" humersoa has what seems to be, bitten my 7" motoros skin, the hume looked to be sucking on the motoros skin and now the motro doesnt have the outer skin covering, what do i do? how can i treat the motoro? i have them seperated in the tank right now. motoro seems to be doing fine, but the outer skin is redish. They have been in the tank together now for about 8 months with no problems. TIA. btw its a 200gal tank if i need to add certain types of chems/meds.

try melafix and/or pimafix

should do the trick

Be VERY careful on the dosage. Like catfish, rays have no scales. Does like 1/3 of the recommended dosage to be safe. I'm still partial to adding salt and bumping the temp up, but I'm old school.

if the larger ray is a male and the smaller is a female he may be ready to breed but the smaller motoro is to small and young

you dont have to half this this stuff it was designed for the most senstive of fish, including rays, discus and loaches. so you dont have to reduce the dose.

Melacrap and Pimacrap can both be irritants to rays. save your money. IMO their prime design function is to seperate hobbyists from their money.
as mentioned above , salt is the way to go...and try to feed them more and maybe lower the temp to around 78

yea i dont like chems too much, ive put some salt in the tank, i thought raising the temp was better?

EGGCRATE IS YOUR FRIEND divide salt

the bite marks are on the side more rearward tried to feed her last night, she doesnt seem to be eating :( yes i divided the tank instantly with egg crate as soon as i noticed the bites.
