water is fine and the temp is 82. the outside of the disk has little bit of white fungus on it and some of the disk is missing. plz any ideas or help thanks steve

Quick question who sent you the ray? Also last guys I talked to about fungus for a friends group of rays said clean water and salt is the best you can do.

Had the same thing happen to me not too long ago. I added 3 pounds of salt per 100 gallons, raised the temp to 84 and did a pima and mela with 50 percent water change every single day. Hope the ray pulls through for you. Good luck!!!

Water perameters? what are you feeding it? my rays have never gone off their food from wounds... but clean water alone should clear it up... I'm guessing you have abit or ammonia in the water. my small female had a pretty bad bite from a gar and it looked white and fuzzy... ammonia spiked during this time as well... a few extra water changes cleared it right up and she healed up very fast.

keep water pristine by keepIng uo wc and feedIng less.and ... add a uv bulb.
since I added mine, I tend not to worry after a fish gets damaged or cut from fighting.... as the uv minimalist the chance of fungus or infection meeting in.
well worth the money. (they are cheap)

What are you treating for you to use salt? Or any meds at that?

If you read the very first post in this thread the ray sounds like it had a chunk taken out of the disc. Also he says that there is some fungus showing up around the damaged area.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with adding salt and raising the temp while kicking up the amount of air put into the tank to treat the wound.
