here are some pics i know you can tell that well but my RD has had a spot on his nuchal hump, woke up this morning and now it is a bump almost looks like a growth, what could it be?

Looks like a bruise. It will probably go away after a couple weeks. It might grow but dont worry just keep your water very clean and it should heal up fine. A little aquarium salt wouldnt hurt either.
