Help! Red gill.

My fish have red gill. i don't know what to treat it with. Some people say salt, but i don't know what kind of salt. HELP!?

so as in regulaer salt.. do u mean iodized? or jsut that regular.

Dont use salt..

Red gills is often a sign of Ammonia poisoning. So i would do 50% water change in the am and another 50% water change in the pm for 2 days straight then then go back to 50% once a day and see if they clears up the problem. If not then report back and well take a medication route...
