I posted a question in the knifefish section about a possible scrape or bacterial infection that might ensue later on. What would you treat a 12-14" Aba Aba with for a bacterial infection? Still eating fine. Housed by its self. I did a 40% water change immediately after I saw the spot that's about the size of a dime or smaller. All levels are good except nitrates are maybe 10ppm. Ph is 7.5+/-, and my water is hard. I quarantine everything I feed it for at least 2-3 weeks. I also water change 25% or so 2-3 times per week. The spots look like loosened scales that are reddish/maroon in color. One on the right side half way down the body that looks kinda like a scrape, or like when a lamprey latches onto a fish for a little while, and some reddish/maroon color behind or around the scales directly behind the gill plate on the right side as well. That area behind the gill plate is in a straight line going down the row of scales above and below its lateral line. The reddish color on the scales does not touch other scales in the row necessarily. Seems to skip 1-3 or so before another one is red in that row. Definitely in a straight line though and about 1" long of the reddish color scales.Sorry to be long winded. Thanks

It is not a heater burn ,by the way. The PVC hiding tube is smooth at the ends. The Aba is getting large for the smaller tube ,so I am gonna remove it to rule that out, just in case that's the cause. That's all I can think of to help as of now.

Best med for your water and fish in this situation would be Triple sulfa as a first line treatment.
