So my 5 inch rhom got caught in one of my DIY rock ornaments and got stuck and I seen that he was stuck so I had to physically push him out and he got cut really bad and I added some stress coat yesterday but I just got home from work and seen that he has serious fin rot now he tail fin is falling off as we speak and his fins look terrible and has a bacterial infection on his whole body too. I put in alot of melafix. What else should I do? Add salt increase temp? Please help! And in the pic u can see his cut he got from when he was stuck its on both sides and his belly

The exact same thing happened to my C. Strigata a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, I lost him. The best thing you can do is raise the water temp to about 84 (correct me if I'm wrong on that) degrees, add an airstone if you don't have one, salt the water, do partials every 24-48 hours without disturbing him, and hope for the best.
My pike was so bad off that I actually started using abx, but it didn't help. :(
Best of luck to you.

I hope you did not raise your temps while using melafix, It can be deadly. If your using it combine it with Pima fix.... Use 1/2 dos of each med daily and do 25% wcs before each new dose. Don't remove carbon ect and don't change the temp. Should see a significant change in 24 hours or less.

I didn't raise temp but I added half the recommend amount of salt. And I don't have primafix but that is suposto treat fungal not bacterial? Will it still help?
