Looking to add my female to the 210 with my male at an attempt to breed, male is about 9-10 inches, female around 6 inches. Had both for almost a year. Needed some advice on what to put in for the female to hide in. Tank currently has gravel bottom, 2 small round rocks and a small clay pot.

I just have a cave made of medium to large stones built around a terra cotta pot. The pot is only there so that the cave can't collapse, just in case. My Male a pretty bulky at 14 inches. Luckily he is pretty mellow and the pair get along just fine with or without fry. If your pair gets along they will be producing offspring on the regular. Be prepared to be overwhelmed with baby dovii. I have a hard time getting rid of them where I am.

Also have a divider pre made and ready in case you need to separate them. Some people will actually leave a divider in all the time, and have holes in the divider that are only big enough for the female to fit through so she can get away when she wants to.

Thanks Rass, been thinking about putting them together for the last few months, female is by herself in a 75 gallon, she lays eggs about every month. I seen a video where someone had the bigger black PVC pipe for the female to hide in just don’t know how to keep it from floating to the top.

Where did you get that pot Andy? I was watching your videos and was hoping you would reply to this message.

Car boot sale. If your from the US you probably don't know what a car boot sale is lol. Just a second hand sale.
In your case the more hiding places the better. Belive me you can't have to many.
You could divide the tank and set up loads of hiding places for the female. Give her a month or so to get familiar with her surroundings and hiding places before removing the divider.
Give the female a advantage. I've done this quite frequently. Most recently with my young Umbee. Good luck and don't rush things. The key to success is to have patience.
