I got two large Severums yesterday. They look like gold Severums but have orange fins and head and maybe they are washed out reds? I was told they're a pair, I want to be sure.

they are gold severums, these days you get Red and Super Red Severums..but dont think yours is a washed out red

They are golds. Gold severums always have yellow/orange/red anal and pelvic fins.

The fish in your first picture is a male. The background severum in the second picture appears to be a female but the light washes it out and it's hard to tell if there are facial markings. If it has worming/stripes on the snout, cheek, and face like the first one, it's probably not a female.

+1 I agree

Thanks guys. After closely examining both sevs one has line markings on the face, other one does not. So they are a pair.

Looks like a nice looking tank you've got there. Can we see a tank shot?

So now the wait to see if they are a compatible pair if you want to breed them. Severums can be very picky when deciding on a mate.

When I got them was told they were together since 3". Here's a full tank shot right after a 50% water change, tank didn't fully settle yet.
