Hey guys, i got 2 Herichthys carpintis from a fish store up in New Hampshire, zoo creatures to be exact if anyone is firmiliar with them. Anyway, i was in there yesterday and saw two new carpintis that were 3 inches. The poor things were getting the snot beat out of them by a 5 inch male festae (not sure why they would put two small carpintis in with a tank with a larger male festae but whatever). So hoping id get lucky and end up with a male female pair, i bought the both of them. Theyre still ripped up and are skinny but theyve started eating and all is well. Im now concerned that i may have 2 females because now they both have a black patch on the dorsal, when at the store only one was showing a black patch. What do you guys think? Ive attached a picture of each one. Thanks! Oh also, they were listed as red texas, but they just seem like carpintis.. Any thoughts?
