Help sex my juvenile dovii please.

Dovi owner can you please give mw insight on the sex of these fish and how to fet maximum growth out of these guys rhank you

first one id sale male because of the dots under the lateral line and the second i dont know, id guess female, still a bit small
 
thank you jagster. the smaller one changes colors. it will look like that and then i will see it and it will be all black almost. and then sometimes with just one dot on the side. and i just picked up what was labeled as red tiger mota and its all silver but only like 1 1/2 2 inches long is that normal
 
no expert in motas but i'm assuming so, most cichlids dont develop their colors or patterns untill theyre atleast 4 inches, this is the best size to sex them too
 
O okay than/ks man. any advice for the dovii ? as far as feeding and what not, your looks nice. Did you have him sence he was little or did you buy him that big?
 
had him since he was an inch long, i do weekly water changes and try to feed him a wide variety of food like earthworms, the occasional feeders from my pond, krill bloodworms,shrimp hikary gold pellets carnivor sticks, frozen and freeze dried foods.
