Hello everyone,

I am new here.. i have been maintaining a fresh water tank for the past 5 years, most recently getting more involved from a maturity level to ensure proper lives for my fish.

could anyone tell me the sex of my - adult jack dempsey - baby jack dempsey (if possible) - baby zebra african

the picture that has the 2 small fish (baby jack d and the blue zebra)

Currently my tank has :nilly: - 2 jack dempseys, 1 zebra african, 2 tin barbs, brown knife fish, red oscar, adult algae eater. Had a adult red devil until it got sick and passed.. tried my hardest to medicate the fish to a healthy state.. but no success.

thank you...

Both JD are male, no "blue beard" so they are MALE.

The African is FEMALE, however I have no experience with Africans or that species, but the fins have no "egg spot" so its a FEMALE

thanks everyone... i am trying to get into breeding and im learning how to tell the sex of fish.

the blue zebra does have 2 egg spots on the anal fin.. but i read that male and females will have them.. males will have 3 or more of them, and females can have 1 or 2. so we will see.

does anyone know how to determine the sex of a oscar? any physical aspects i can look for?
