Help sexing cuban

Hello , I just purchased a 3 inch cuban, I couldn't resist full of color lol anyways i was wondering if anyone can help me sex him or her, jm leaning towards male just because the body is getting much thicker and taller, opinions?

At this point, it looks to me like a male, but......at 3 " its a little small and or young to tell.
Females at about 4" have solid dark markings in the dorsal and on the gill plate, like the one directly below.

A male doesn't have the solid dark area in the dorsal, and is less torpedo shaped.


A mature male also has more mottled markings on the gill plate, like the one directly above.
 
Kinda looks similar to my young male I received a few months ago, I call him Nemo cause he's missing a pelvic fin, lol good luck with him/her

You’ll need to let it grow out a bit more and wait for it to colour up. If I had to take a guess now I’d say that it’s a male due to body shape / structure.

My pair I used to have. Female is more torpedo shaped

Beautiful pair you had, how long did it take for the male to start coloring up?
Thank you! They are still together producing tonnes of fry for a friend. The male started to colour up at around 4 - 4.5 inches if I remember correctly

so far looking more an more like a male more everyday, his body is getting much chunkier and his color is verygolden wit a blue tint so im almost 100%sure male
