Hello, I am fairly new to this forum, tho have been fish keeping for a while now. Question is, what sex is my terror, it's about 3" or so. I've attached photos below, any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you kindly in advance, Manny image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg

Looks like a young male to me

It shows male color, but a dominant female off breeding can be just as colorful. I have kept and bred GTs for years and still have no sure way to sex GTs until they are sexually mature. Males grow larger with bigger hump. Females darken in color in breeding dress. Off breeding, dominant females can be as colorful as males and can have small hump.

At what age do they begin showing signs of being male? When will I notice the longer dorsal fin growing? Thank you

I have two that are about 6-7" and the one is starting to get a decent sized hump on it, so I assume it is a male, but it is easiest to tell when they are fully mature because then you will know for sure. By the way that looks like an awesome tank, what size is it?

Thank you Ryan, it's a 75 gallon with the green terror, an albino Senegal Bichir, and some black skirt tetras as dithers, tho 1 has become a snack for 1 of the 2 in the tank. I would like to add another Bichir or 2, depends on what's available. I was actually surprised at how the terror and Bichir interact, or lack of interaction. They don't even realize the other is in the tank which is pretty cool.

Thank you Stanz, I picked him out cuz my inclination was it was an obvious male, however the suggestions/advice/info is always welcome. Thank you
