one of my breeding females has some kind of blisters all over her sides...i've never seen this before, on any fish...water is the same as usual and the male con (mate) is fine...not sure if it has anything to do with her laying eggs, this is her 6 spawn...i have no idea what it is, doesn't look like any thing in the books. if you've ever seen a those goldfish "the pearlscales", the blisters kinda look like that, plus her body is bloated like a pearlscale too...the blister-like stuff looks like it's underneath the scales and they have no color, just clear., and is pushing all the scales up....looks really sick. anyone with any info, please help...

Fish may also appear off-colour and listless, and may stop feeding. The swelling caused by this disease may often be mistaken for a pregnant or egg-carrying fish. Gouramies and Cyprinids (barbs, danios, etc) are prone to this disease.
Causes
Dropsy is a condition with several possible causes. It may frequently be caused by internal infections by a number of different bacterial species. Viruses have also been associated with the disease. Poor water quality and/or diet may trigger the disease. If the problem has been caused by permanant damage to the kidney, then treating the infection will not eradicate the symptoms.
