Help! Sick IT Dat

My prized datnoid is sick! It all started when I did a water changed 1 week ago and saw 3 of my bichirs died overnight . The bichirs all had cloudy eyes and white coating in their mouths and some sort of tail and fin rot. To prevent this from spreading, I bought a Primafix (antifungal fish remedy) yesterday (monday) from Island pets. Then to my surprise, I found my one and only datnoid with and infection too! Does any one know what kind of infection this is??? and am I treating it right??? (pics attached)

I forgot to add that he is swimming okay and still eating. But as you can see in the pictures, his coloration is unstable.

Just tested the water

Ammonia = 2.0 ppm
nitrate = 0.05 ppm
Nitrite = 0.00 ppm

Water temp currently @ 24c trying to bump it up at 28c (Damn this winter!!!)

Tank is 50gal big and has 5 other bichirs with him. Its 1 year old and fully cycled. I haven't introduced any feeders since 3 weeks ago. Running on 2 Fluval 405's.

ammonia is WAYYYYY to high thats your problem, throw some prime in for now, maybe your tank is going through a cycle, did u forget to add dechlor when u did ur WC?

I think my tank is going thru a mini cycle considering I ldid a 50% water change over the weekend as 3 of my bichirs died.

I never used dechlor on my wc's. All the water come from tap. Never had a problem with it for a year.

Check your water company first for chlorine and chloramine. Does the tap reek of chlorine? Get Prime and do a large water change by as much as 60%. In the meantime, add a teaspoon per gallon of salt to keep infections at bay. You need to have a total dose of 3 teaspoons per gallon so add each teaspoon per gallon every 12 hours until you reach 0.3% or 3 teaspoons. Remember to redose salt per water volume changed.

No the water doesn't reek of chlorine. Can I add salt even with the Primafix on the tank? or should I do a major water change then add the salt?

Salt and Pimafix are fine when used together.

Get some prime. You are in Vancouver I'm sure there is chlorine and it just killed your BB. Now you have to dilute all that ammonia.
