One of my fish died a week ago one second it was fine next it was twitching and swimming in circles and up side down, soon it was dead. The only thing I could see that was wrong with it is that it looked like it had some sort of wound or sore on its chin, I had noticed it before, I thort it was just a battle wound. Now another piranha in my tank has the same sore on its chin, but this one I can see a few strands of white growing of it, so I suspect it may be body fungi. I am setting up a hospital tank and I plan on treating it with salt. the sore dosnt look very bad but seeing what happened to the other one its got me worried. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

thanks

Is it hole in the head or parasites because depending on what you may need some meds too

One possibility is columnaris. Do you have pictures at all? If you have seen before piranhas wounding each other, then wounds if left untreated can indeed develop secodnary infections such as fungus but fungus can also be mistaken for columnaris and columnaris is far more common and a very contagious bacterial infection at that. Post your water parameters please.
