Hello,
My silver arowana has been acting weird lately. He sits at the bottom and doesn't eat any food at all, he occasionally twitches and when he swims his tail is sloped downwards. It really weird cause the day before he was totally fine eating shrimps and swimming smoothly. I think he jumped and banged the tight lid on the tank, what could i do to get him back to normal? please help.

do a 50% water change and then put some melafex in there and maybe some other meds and do that like 2 3 times a week prolly just isnt happy my opnion

mine did this the 2 times he jumped out on me during cleaning or feeding... mine is about 18 inches and jumped out after a bala shark freaked out... he didn't eat for almost 4 days... but it doing fine now.. if yours doesn't have any signs of damage.. just give it a few days to relax and get back into the swing of things... but if it stays at the bottom for too long i would check the water conditions and make sure nothing is out of wack... and also when he is swimming with his tale down is it in the flow of water.. mine does this and when he is in the flow he just lets in go down and rides it in a way

How long have you had the aro? How big is the aro, how big is the tank? What are tankmates? What are the water parameters? What is your water change schedule.

Why, what will the melafix do? What other meds? Seems if you really don't have any real advise to add so better to just not post. Even doing a 50% can be harmful if the aro has not been kept with sizable weekly water changes.

50 percent water change???? keep a close eye, maybe he'll frown too!!! is it the tip of the tail sagging or his whole rear section??? just got my 2nd one today and the tip of his tail seems to point downward. is this common or should it be somethiing to worry about??
