Well I was in the pet store a few days ago and i saw a fish by the name of Banjo catfish. A very interesting fish i might add. I would like to buy one or 2 and keep them as a pet. What would you guys/gals recommend for starting out? I could prob find a tank somewhere but what would i need to keep the fish alive and well?

I've never kept one, but they should be fine in a 20+ gallon tank. They take pellets for catfish, obviously, and also frozen bloodworms, and shrimp (if it's small enough).

Oh yeah, and welcome to MFK

Welcome to MFK. These are great catfish to keep, but are somewhat reclusive. A fun fish none the less though.

some pretty cool looking smaller cats. i would prolly go for a 36g-60g tank. anything with at least a 12"x48" footprint just because it's always a lot more fun to view u'r fish when they have room to swim and i dunno about everyone but i feel better then too.

True, get as much room as possible. More fun for you, and, the fish of course.

You could go to walmart and get one of those Whisper Filters. Ive used those before, they are pretty good. Like 30 bucks. Depends on what size your tank is.

i'd check out petsmart too. the top fin is actually made by tetra and is the exact same as the whispers. most startup kits come with a whisper 60 or top fin 60 and would actually be u'r best bet. the 55 starters are usually around 150 buks so save up for a bit then go for it. not a bad deal at all.
