I have a 100 US gallon tank that is 60" long. It is currently stocked with 2 GT's and 1 Columbia Pike. My mother does not like any of the fish and to her pleasing I have decided to restock the tank. I want you guys to help me out with the stocking. I am wanting about 3-5 medium 6-8" fish. I hate to let these guys go, but the tank is in her house and it really needs to please her as well. I am thinking a pike of some sort maybe a Crenicichla sp. "Tapajoz Red" (if I can find one), 1 or 2 geos or gymnogeos (maybe gymnogeophauges sp. "Yi" or Geophagus Altifrons). I can't think of any other fish atm, my mind is a bit crazy with the baby running around so if you guys could help it would be greatly appreciated.

I have 3 years fish keeping experience and have breed several species of New World cichlids, neon tetras, and bettas splendens. I have a photo of the tank, without water a few months ago, I will post it so you can have a look.

You could go with geo's. A group of 5-7 geos of the same species that max at 4-6" would be ok in this tank. Just pick a sp. you can get and that you/your mother likes.

Well, I like to use AquaBid. But this LFS near me sells some jurupari, altifrons, tapajos; but this guy on aquabid that goes by FishfarmUSA has some nice looking geos and gymnos.

My mother really likes reds, blues and yellows. The gymnogeo sp. "Yi" is her favorite fish, I wonder if the guy still has them.

Get something with color, moms like colorful fish, keep a festae if you still want to keep pikes and gt. That way she can keep a fish she will like and you can keep the fish you want.:D Make sure the festae is a female, she will like the color, could also try an electric blue dempsey and not tell her how much the pretty little blue fish costs.:) I would go with the first suggestion if I were you, a female festae is the one that turns red/orange.

The festae sounds like a good route, the ebjd grows to way to slow and I am not to partial on the personality of jd's. I am going to have to rehome my female GT as she is getting bullied terribly by the male. Surprisingly the male leaves the pike alone. If I do not rehome all the fish, I will have room for a group of 2-3 geo's.

Some of the geos are very colorful, yea just check and see whats on aquabid and google a picture of whats up for auction, or you could search old forums on here, someone has probably made a photo thread of them. Some of the best looking fish don't look good until they grow up a little.

you could always get tigerbarbs or red eye tetras and just make big schools of them
even mollies which come in a big variety of colors

mollies are food, i am wanting to involve her in this decision and it is becoming more trouble than it is worth LOL. I am rehoming the female and keping the male gt and pike and adding a festae i think
