fist of all is phosphate dangerous to fish?
Tank perameters
PH 6.2
ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 7
phosphate highest level of color chart could be 10 or could be 40 who knows.
I checked my tap water it is 1ppm
so somthing must be causeing the phosphate to go insane. Does anyone know what causes high phosphate?

Thanks

If your nitrates are 7....as in 7ppm...you need to do more water changes...lots of them. No its not so bad for fish but its great for funky algae :D

Phosphate in the aquarium is usually due to the breakdown of DNA and RNA in digested food. Phosphate does not appear to be particularly harmful to fish...but I woud try to minimize it, nonetheless. As the other guy stated, it will definitely stimulate algae growth. Personally, I don't consider 7 ppm nitrate to be significant. Many tanks exceed 20 ppm between water changes with no ill effect.

ahh your right...7 is not high...it was after the Saints game...for whatever reason I was replying like it was 70 lol sorry. 11-0 who dat

Try some of this and keep testing water till the phosphate is gone:
