Help - Swolen Lips

Hi, Please help, my XXL Gold Severum was fine two days ago and all of a sudden his lips have swelled. All other fish are ok.

I have no other tank to put it in, what should i do?

I have an anti internal bacteria medication, should i use this?

Do you have any other larger fish cichlids of any kind etc? If so, it's possible they're fighting or doing the mating dance. maybe fighting maybe mating ritual?

also after reasearching and thinking about it it looks like it may have cotton mouth disease

try a soft cloth dipped in a high salt solution

clean the mouth area and pray

u could also see if your lfs has like a Methylene blue solution or something of that nature

It is the largest fish in there and none of the other fishes have any signs of damage - is it usual for symptoms to appear this quickly?

i personally have never dealt with cotton mouth disease from what i understand the bacteria that causes it is always in the water.

i would test your water parameters do a water change anyways and treat like i said

as far as i see it its the best shot you got so far.

also regardless of what the big fish pharmaceutical companies say often a nice salt bath is the best cure for anything especially if it appears to be bacterial. at least from my experience anyways.

Thanks for the help but within 1 day of the sudden swelling he died. He was over 10 inches! A huge severum, I don't understand what it could have been to happen so quickly?
