so, yesterday i got some tetras for my 230g, well, one of my geos decided it was going to try and eat one, and since last night he still has the tail hanging out of his mouth, like it hasn't moved. What is the safest way to remove it?

Get him in a net have a friend you trust hold the geo and get a pair of tweezers gently get it out trying not to damage the gills. It will be toughnot to damage anything!!

Thanks hulon
well it wasn't a tetra but a nano.

I got it out and his mouth looks sore and red, but he is swimming fine but stressed. lights are going out and i will let you guys know how he is doing tomorrow.

Ya i know, no bleeding from the gills, but his mouth is still stuck open with red sores in his mouth, but he should heal over that one.

Oh ya i would think so. But i am sure it does not feel good .Maybe he wont do that again!!!

don't count on it . . . my Oscar bought the farm because he ate one pictus cat, then spit it out . . . two weeks later he ate another, and died . . . because of the spines on the catfish I figured . . .

well here is an update, he is doing better, a lot better. his mouth went back to normal and he is more active and starting to swim. Thanks for all the help.
