Hi All, I have my peacock bass (monos & OCellaris) of 4" & 5" around 8 pieces in a 4' X2' X2' tank. Feeding them with Hikari food sticks.

today one of the bass died, i couldn't find the reason. another started to stay low and no interest in the food sticks. rest of the 6 Ocellaris are staying together and moving faster. mostly they stick together either at bottom or at the top surface. Any reason for this kind of behaviour. I used to switch on the lights to check their health status.

Today I have changed the 3/4th of water put some salts to avoid any bacteria. Please advice.

Temp: ~27 degrees Celcius.
PH : 7.5

using almond leaves to reduce the PH. Above P.basses survived more than a month.

How's your bass doing dude? At 5 inches they can handle a lot, but I wouldn't take too many chances. I hope you figure out the problem.

Pre-existing internal parasite maybe?bacteral infection? Nitrates or nitrites high? Get that ph down some... I'd Melafix the tank incase. What's your water change schedule?

I have lost my 3 P.basses today due to some bacterial infection. No traces found on the outer skins. seems to be itching, hence i have moved all the 5 basses to my quarantine tank and raised the temp to 28 degrees, added salt, Anti itch, anti parasite, anti fin rot medications. Lets wait for the improvement. Removed the filters and cleaned it from the main tank.
