Hello, I have 3 american sichlids, a JD, GT, and a texas. lately all of them have been shaking and vibrating in an awkward manner. it started with my small texas cichlid and has now been spread to my other two, the JD being the largest at 8 inches. They have also been flashing every now agian and my green terror has scraped off some of his scales in front of his right pectoral fin on his gills. I suspect that they might have gill mites or some kind of gill parasite that i cannot visibly see. they all swim around like normal and have a normal appetite and display normal colors. they seem fine but they kep shaking and flashing, i do not think this is life theatening but then again i would like som other oppinion of this matter any help or idea on this situation would be greatfully appreciated. i have also treated them with a standard dose of prazi-pro which is just a formula of praziquantel. It is supposed to treat tuberelains and tube like paracites. If anyone could please help I would love it.

don't know if its parasite is there any signs other then scraping like little dots or things hanging off the fish

check your water my JD use to do this when the water got dirty or when she got stressed

Check their batteries, might be running low.

If in doubt, bump up the temp and add salt. Increase the salt dosage a little every day for four days. Do waterchanges every day, and replace the same amount of salt you remove porportionately. That should help clear it up quickly.

Sounds like what my convicts do some times when they are mad displaying dominance...either that or it sounds like ich or some external parasite.
