3 white bumps have appeared on one of my Jack Dempsey, they seem too big to be ick. tankmates include more jack dempsey and other CA Chiclids, 1 common plecto, 1 golden plecto, 2 clown loach, 2 comet goldfish. The Jack dempsey, goldfish, and common plecto have been tankmates for 4 years. the other CA chiclids were acquired from another hobbyist about 4 weeks ago, and the golden plecto from LFS also 4 weeks ago.

None of the other fish appear to be effected.

Parameters:

125 gallon tank
no ammonia per API test.
76 degrees
20 percent weekly water changes
2 x Fluval 405 filters
1 x Fluval FX5

The dempsey is approx 9 inches long:help2:

Has anyone got any advice on how to treat this as i am having the same issue with my Jack Dempsey.. or @glennarmy have you had any luck treating yours?

The pictured lesions look like Lyphocystis to me. A fish virus much like cold sores. No cure, usually not fatal. Clean water and good nutrition might help. Sometimes it clears up on its own.

Thanks Stephen wasnt sure what it was and i was going to treat for fungal infection but if it should clear up on its own i will just leave it.

Fungus only takes root on dead or decaying organic matter.
If your fish had an abrasion where the actual flesh had been damaged, then a fungus could take hold. Good luck.
