with cichlids, you never know what will happen...you might want to add a little more so there are more targets to spread the aggression.

okay should i add more convicts ? also would this set work with a midas instead of a jag ?

you should be fine ,and some tiger barbs as dithers it will help a bit..i have 2 jags ,2 cubans ,2 texas ,and 4 festae cichlids with 4 tiger barbs and a banded leporinus that seems to grow overnite every nite lol ,and 2 8" rapheal cats.. and the tank is always moving.I really think the tank is a pretty calm environment.. tank is 180 gal all are around 3"-4" have a 75 with an black rhom in it and once i get rid of the rhom i will move a couple into that tank

I'd recommend at least a 125 (180 would be better) and as far as adding more cons, that's def not the route I would go. In fact, I'd stick to just a male con as opposed to a pair--breeding cons are very nasty fish. Instead, throw in maybe a salvini or another medium sized cichlid. Throw in maybe a cat and some dithers (not cons though) and call it a day. Good luck.

i just wanted to see if i should go with this stock and by the looks of it , it looks too risky . this was my other option for the tank , let me know what you guys think : Oaxaca cichlid (male), Gold severum (female) , a Blue Crayfish, BN pleco , a JD, a male con and a firemouth ? 100 Gallon with very good filters . will this work ? what should i remove ?

get them young and you should be okay for a while then you will need to up grade jags get pretty big

I'm not too familiar with oaxaca, but it really all depends on the specific fish you get. You could get the most aggro con and firemouth ever and they may cause problems for the others. On the flipside, maybe you get some of the more mellow fish of the bunch. Only way to find out for sure is to try it. Getting them all as juveniles would help, as well as good aquascaping.

Salvini are meaner then convicts

oaxacas are more known as vieja zontas . i'll try to get them when they are small , the reason i wanted a con pair was to ensure that the cons won't get bullied and that they will be able to hold there own against a of the larger cichlids .
