i purchased another 125 gallon aquarium off ebay. i picked it up today and 2 things i noticed. 1 is its heavier then my other 125 and 2. there is no center brace in the middle of the tank.. its not like it was broke or anything cause the molding is the exact same in the middle as it is anywere else.. could this be normal for a real old tank?? maybe the glass is thicker and no need for the center brace in the newer tanks or whats the deal?? kinda afraid to fill it up until i get some awnsers.. thx for any help i can get..

You can always add bracing if it worries you.

Yeah its a older tank, but if the seals are good, no worries.
The new 125s have 2 braces, my 125 has 1 brace, and my 6ft 100g has no braces. The 100 is as heavy as the 125 because of thicker glass. It should be no problem.
If your really worried about it and didnt see the tank full, do a wet run in the garage.

I got a 125 and a buncha other tankz from a woman who used to breed angels while i was up in Washington...it was a really old 125 and it didn't have the bracing in the middle like you stated. I didn't add any bracing as it was sufficient without it..;)

I have had some wide, shallow tanks (90+120) that had no brace.

I took an older 125g and replaced the top frame with a new one from aga frame cost less than $35 and fit perfect
