Okay so we just bought a tank. We were told it was 125 gallons. We got glass lids, filters, like 5 powerheads, all sorts of stuff for $175. Only thing we are missing is a stand. We want to build one, my husband is very good at things like that. I think we have a problem though. The measurments are 72 1/2 x 18 1/2 x 21 1/2. I cant find anything with those demensions. Ive been kinda fishing through here for info and decided to join for some help! If someone could post maybe a picture/plan or something of what we could go about trying to build.

Thanks!

Welcome to MFK.

There are lots of links to stands that dimension on this site. Just do a browse of this section. I have two below.

If you build it yourself out of 2x4's it'll be plenty strong, just cut the wood to the proper dimensions as you go.

Use wood paneling to cover it when it's built.

As mentioned in other posts, edge support for the tank is very important, build a cradle for the tank then attach legs to it. Also search for 'plans' or 'DIY stand' in the DIY section, it'll help... Also good pictures of other stands are in a long thread involving Wisconsinite's in there, HUGE fish room builds with all the locals addint to the post.

You could click on the link in my signature, i'm bulding a 180 stand currently and maybe will give you some ideals.
