Help with 150 gallon.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
now way you can keep this stock long term, the grammodes if both male they will kill eachother and possibly other tank mates, and if you happen to get a pair they will kill every other fish

Ok so what about
1 grammode
1 jag
1 salvini
1 female featae

see man my problem with this is the salvini and the female festae, if you want a SA/CA comm tank to work IME you should either keep all males or all females, dont mix

That was my plan. Sorry i forgot to mention that. I have a female salvini already, have a female festae lined up to buy, and will but 3 grammodes and 3 jags pick the best female of each and sell the rest. Sorry bout that.

oh okay well this is a good start then, there is still no way to tell if it will work but you have a better shot now, give plenty of hiding spot and maybe add some silver dollars as Dithers/Targets

Ok cool. I knew it would be hard to do. I will have a LOT of hiding spots and probably 6 silver dollars. Im getting the tank setup this week sometime but i have a couple other tanks up and running to get the grammodes, jags and festae. Thanks! Any more tips and tricks?

well the only ticks i can give is grow them up together, even though looking at this stock i might be hard as both grammodes and festae have slow growth rates and jags grow pretty fast, but i would let the salvini get settled in the tank first then add the jag and then the festae and grammodes, that should keep them in check, also you should have a tank ready just in case this stock dosent work good luck and keep us updated

Ya i heard grammodes are slow growers. I will get the 150 setup, cycle it and put the salvini in. Get the grammodes and jags and festae seperate them between my two 55 gallon tanks and grow the grammodes up a bit while the salvini is getting his territory settled in. When the grammodes hit about 4" they will go in as well as the jags. Then the festae right before the grammodes but after the jag.

it sounds like a ticking time bomb... Do yourself a favor and pick less aggressive cichlids LOL...
