Help with 3"x3" Mini Moss walls?

I have 16 3"x3" betta cubes and 4 4"x4" betta cubes.

To act as a pod host, ammonia/nitrite/nitrate remover, decoration and beneficial bacteria medium, I am going to a moss wall and a moss floor for the bottom of each tank and the back wall of each tank (not the sides because I occaisionally let my bettas flare at each other)

How do I build the moss wall? Is it better to use non-corrosive metal mesh or plastic? (I like the properties of metal mesh more)

I am going to use java moss.

I am going to buy a bunch of moss and let it grow in a fishless water body for at least a month so that I don't introduce any disease to my bettas.

What sized mesh holes do I use?
No suction cups - tight custom fit
Any forseeable problems?

Any better options? (I have tried duckweed, water lettuce, java fern, anacharis and hornwort)

i suggest either using a luffa (shower sponge, puff) however you would need to hold it down or somehow make it stick to the back wall. or using plastic canvas which you could buy at an arts and crafts store, you could buy a big sheet and just cut it to size.

i should have mentioned you should sandwich it in. or use some sort of back to it like one side acrylic with the plastic canvas on the other side of the sandwich.

ive seen them through ebay
there is a guy who sells starmoss and a bunch of other mosses and plants. under some of his listings he has other things he sells and some of the listings show those moss wall kits. kinda discriptive kinda not right?
