hello everyone i am new to this forum.
i have a 55 gal. tank with one brown knife, 1 bala shark, 1 Iridescent Sharks, and 1 Leporinus Fasciatus. they are all about 2-3 inches long, except for the brown knife fish which is around 6 inches.

i was wondering if i could put anymore fish in the tank because i want more! :headbang2.

but with that size of a tank, is those fish enough?

thank you.

Those fish are TOO MUCH for that size of tank. I'd say lose a few. The iri and bala "sharks" (catfish family (iri) and (minnow family (bala) ) I think, will grow quite large. Much to big for a 55 gallon. I'll put this into perspective for you...

I have 3 - 55's. they hold:

1 - Ceylon puffer (alone, he kills tankmates)
2 - Albino bichirs, 1 senegal, 1 bristlenose and 1 upside down catfish.
3 - crayfish/shrimp

As you can see, the most fish I have in a 55 is 5 fish. None of which will grow huge ( the upside down cat will move to my 75 in a few months)

I would suggest researching the adult size of your fish and read some of the basic information stickies in the MFK forums. You will eventually need a lot more space for the fish you have. I don't know your experience level but keep in mind the information in the stickies, even if it seams like you should be able to keep a lot more fish then recommended, is generally accurate and mostly learned the hard way by people with years of experience.

Here's an adult iridescent shark:

LOL, I never noticed that! Maybe it's his pet. They say owners & pets look alike.

PUFFERPUNK!!!

I love it. Thanks for showing what I was trying to put into words.

PS. Gotta love the OPs that don't come back when they don't get the answer they want....
