I am thinking of getting a 30g Oceanic Cube setup as a second tank. I like the look (it will match my Oceanic 55) and the size. I plan on putting a pair of apistos in there, or possibly convicts. What else do you recommend for stocking? It would be nice to have some activity at all levels of the tank since its kind of deep. Anyone have one of these and have some pix?

Thanks,

I do own a 30g tall, not cube....Right now it is being cycled....I should be able to place my COnvict pair in there tomorrow(pix coming)....FOr small tanks like these, I suggest small-medium sized cichlids that breed easily....When the fry come out and swim around, it's crazy....Brichardi, Convicts, Rams.....Being a MonsterKeeper though, these tanks are labeled feeder tanks....

I was thinking about getting a 30 cube for my breeding pair of discus, my apistos, some rams, a pair of hypancistrus plecos, a gold Pomacea mystery snail, and maybe some cardinals for dithers. A sword plant on one side, a nice piece of driftwood, some little chain swords in the foreground, and you have a sweet South American tank.

Or you can put Endler's livebearers in there instead of cardinals so you can legitimately claim it's a feeder tank.

I have a 33 from Oceanic. I adore it. I have three angels, three female bettas, a dozen glowlites, a couple danios, an L144 bristlenose pleco, a CL that's not big enough to moved up yet and two cory cats I've had for 5 years. And a couple hundred Malaysian trumpet snails.

All that overstock is handled by an eheim classic and a penguin HOB and some live plants.

Wow...thats a nice stup you go there! I was thinking of adding some sowrdtails if I get it. If I do do it I'll get an eheim ecco for filtration. I'm just not sure how heavy I can stock it.

So....do i go with Convicts or Apistos as a breeding pair in it? I would like to have other fish in there, but I fear the convicts might not be the right choice.
