I have an supplier offering me what he is calling "Indian Perch" that he says are some big, mean bad ass fish. I am aware of a salwater cardinal fish with this name but not a freshwater predator. I have done some searching and have learned nothing. Anyone know what this might be?

Thanks...Joel

I would need a picture but the only freshwater fish I am finding that gets refered to as "Indian perch" is the Climbing perch, (Anabas Testidureus) which is a predator on small fishes and crustaceans, it gets to 10" and is extremely hardy, sometimes crossing drying fields to get to new water courses.

Thanks Mr. Guppy,

I'll order in one or two and see what they are. I have had climbing perch before but they were called climbing perch when I bought them. They were small and boering. THese are in the 7-8 inch range according to the supplier. THis could be cool...or boering. I'll let you know what I get....
