A couple of months ago I got what was labeled as a Pseudotropheus sp. "(Msuli) "Acei" (Picture 1,2). But I have never seen another one like it.The Acei's I have seen have a lot of blue to them with green fins.

Well yesterday I went to go get some more fish and found a good deal on this guy. He was listed as a (Copadichromis) "red fin borleyi"(picture 3,4,5,6). I cant not notice that these guys look almost exactly alike. The only difference is that one has green fins and the other one has orange. The red fin looks a little beat up from when I got him but Im sure he will heal nicely with in a week. I added some salt and slime coat plus for him.

So can yall help me out to make sure that the fish in the 1st and 2nd picture are really a acei?

Yea, I dont think pic 1 and 2 are Acei.

They tend to have long slender bodies where the Borleyi is shorter and higher size wise.

I have two male borleyi`s and they both have very different coloring. The last pic looks more like an Acei though.

I think all the pictures are borleyi. The face is too pointed to be mbuna and some pictures even show spots.... Pseudotropheus have vertical stripes, not spots.

I have 5 PS acei and they look nothing like these pictures. It's a borleyi, males look much different once full grown but females and juveniles look like the pictures you posted.
