A friend of mine was given a poly because it lost it's home. He keeps a cold water tank though so he passed it off to me. He seems to be doing well in my tank. I have a 75g with a wet/dry filter. Right now I have 3 Malawi Cichlids. Two are about 3 in and the other is 2 in. I had more but he ate them. I also have a pleco, not sure the species but it is about 6 in and it has a giant sail fin. I also have a bristlenose pleco who is about 3 in. I have black gravel, a few fake plants, two bubblers, one very large rock cave and 2 smaller ones. I keep the tank around 82 degrees at all times. I am interested in keeping the poly so I was wondering if my tank is the environment for him.

what species of bichir?Keep on eye out for any round light patches the may appear on the bichir, some species of pleco can develop a taste for slimecoat.
Also what species are the Malawi cichlids?-Anne

To be honest, I am not too sure. I just started getting into this about 9 months ago. The Malawi's are a pale blue color. The poly, judging from pictures, is maybe a palmas. It doesn't have any stripes or spots.
